A great source of inspiration is see what others have done -  at quilt shows and yarn and bead conventions, in books, and in museums for a perspective of what has been done over the centuries. The historic perspective has helped me to understand what motivated women to create art - particularly their quilts, knitting, and beadwork.

I’ve also found it fascinating to figure out how women in the nineteenth century found the resources to produce such fine art.

To say nothing of doing it by candlelight!  It has been interesting to see what trends in art, technology (supplies), and society affected their art.

Also, how they were rewarded for creating this art and how they used their art.

If you are interested, drop me an email and let me know, and I’ll continue to share the research I have done.
